چکیده
Abstract The eastern Anti-Atlas of Morocco represents one the most completely exposed and perfectly documented biostratigraphic records entire Devonian worldwide. Paleogeographically it is clearly differentiated into shallow basins, pelagic platforms, land areas which are newly defined illustrated, from top Middle Devonian, other middle Famennian as two characteristic intervals. dominant paleogeographic feature T-shaped Tafilalt Platform which, in spite common unconformities hiatuses, provides best-documented record through Devonian. westernmost termination this platform was emerged during (and locally even earlier) became only flooded again by Tournaisian transgression. In contrast to previous interpretations, area considered autochthonous. Mader Basin subsidence up hundred times higher with respect adjacent but water depth interval generally remained above storm-wave base. rocks patchily incompletely preserved on Platform, can be an intermittently peninsula connected Lower Paleozoic farther west. major paleotectonic element Great Fault, a sinistral strike-slip fault, sharply confines above-mentioned realms south.

Knowledge of reservoir distribution and quality in the offshore eastern Gulf of Mexico (EGOM) is essential for future economic development of hydrocarbon resources. The Norphlet Fm. has been a significant hydrocarbon reservoir in the onshore EGOM region since the late 1960’s; however, due to sparse lithologic data in the offshore EGOM, predicting Norphlet Fm. reservoir distribution in this area...

Red Hill I forms the northern end of the Northern Simpson Park Range, northwest of Eureka, Nevada. The Red Hill I locality (lowest part of Red Hill section II in Murphy et al. 1976, Red Hill I of Gregory et al. 1977) lies near the exposed bottom of a sequence of reddish, yellow and greenish gray silty lime mudstones, approximately 80 m thick, at the base of the southwest flank of Red Hill (NW ,...

The Rhipidistia (Osteichthyes, Crossopterygii) comprise three superfamilies of Paleozoic fossil fishes, the Holoptychoidea, Osteolepoidea and Rhizodontoidea. Of these the members of the Holoptychoidea (families Holoptychidae and Porolepidae) are by far the least well known, and consequently there exists a considerable gap in our knowledge of the evolution of the Rhipidistia as a whole. The aim ...
